Imagination let loose

Little Opera is a performing arts organisation that quite literally puts opera in the hands of children. They provide primary-aged students with a place to explore drama, music, dance and design in collaboration with professional artists as they create their own original little operas.

In summer 2017, I had the good fortune to be asked by the Little Opera Artistic Director Claire Shaw to come and work on the company’s inaugural season as a guest playwright. Working with the children for a number of sessions that autumn, I helped them with their incredible ideas to form the story of their new opera, The Wolf Queen.
